About

Limefield is a recording studio tucked away in North Manchester, UK. Set up in 2007 by John Ellis (The Cinematic Orchestra) & Steve Brown (Corinne Bailey Rae) it grew from Manchester’s vibrant music community and has become a familiar & comfortable home for established and emerging talent in and around Manchester.

The main recording space is a miniature ballroom. With a high ceiling and wooden floorboards, acoustic instruments sing while valve preamps on the mixing console help electric instruments come to life with rich, warm tones.

In addition to a strong technical facility that makes the recording process quick, simple and rewarding, we are able to draw on our community of artists – helping to find the right musicians or visual collaborators to document the creative process.

This is a special space that brings the best out of any musician that walks through the door.
